Age 53, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, July 06, 2006, at Hospice of Dayton after an extended battle with lung cancer.
Herman was born August 19, 1952 to Herman Gobel & Margaret Leach (Haynes) Harney, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by one son, Carl D. Harney of Dayton; one grandson, Mason Harney; three sisters, Janet Ballard, Linda & Arnold Russell and Brenda & Gary Jones; and by his significant other, Bonnie Bird; nephews, Don & Dawn and Larry & Charla Garrison; and one niece, Tammy & Jason Hall.
Herman was a long-time member of the Painters' Local Union # 249. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Monday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, with funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer that donations be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
