On March 12, 2023, Herbert Tinsley of Richmond, IN passed away at the age of 92!
Herbert was born February 8th 1931 to Charles and Eloise Tinsley in Pineville, KY. Herbert is the third of nine children (Charles D III, Bill Milford, Etta Louise, G. P, Russell, Donald Pat, Ruth Ann, Freddie & Eddie Tinsley)
Herbert graduated from Richmond High School and was employed at Fleming Motor Inc., before entering the service. Herbert worked as an auto mechanic and also served in the Korean War. Herbert and his life long wife (Freda Lemons) met and moved to Reynoldsburg, OH. There Herbert was employed by and retired from General Motors, in the Cadillac division.
Herbert was a long time member of the Lockbourne Church of Christ in Columbus, OH. Herbert and Freda had one child together (Deborah Foster). They spent 60+ years together before her passing in 2014. Herbert had a love for working on cars and fishing. In his spare time you could find him out on Buckeye lake or Hoover dam in his boat.
Herbert leaves behind his daughter (Deborah Foster) her husband (John Foster), two grandchildren (Walter and Amber Henderson), his two brothers (Donald and Fred Tinsley), his best friend and neighbor (Terry McConnell) and many nieces/nephews.
A graveside service and military salute will be held at Earlham Cemetery in Richmond, IN on April 26,2023 at 2pm. Followed by a luncheon at Golden Corral. Flowers can be sent to Earlham cemetery. All other donations can be sent to Deborah Foster.
