Born on June 9, 1962, in Dayton, Ohio, he spent his life serving and protecting his hometown as a police officer for the City of Dayton. His commitment to public service exemplified his dedication to making the community a safer place for all its residents.
He is survived by his children Erin (Justin) Hartley, Paige Rogers, Jake (Lacey) Rogers, and Reese (Megan) Rogers. Herbert was particularly proud of his grandchildren, Palmer Hartley and Liam Rogers, whose laughter and joy brought him great happiness.
Beyond his professional life, Herbert had a passion for music. He loved taking trips down to Kentucky, where he enjoyed the beauty of the landscape and the warmth of Southern hospitality. A fan of country music, he often found solace in the melodies that resonated with his sense of home. Herbert also had a particular fondness for Western films.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents Herbert L. Rogers, Sr. and Joyce Smith, as well as his sister Teresa Chessman. While they are no longer with him, their memory and influence remained with him throughout his life.
Herbert L. Rogers Jr. will be remembered for his love for his family, and his ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. His spirit will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the memories he created.
