Mr. Adams was from a musical family and blessed with an abundance of musical talent. He learned to play the fiddle before the age of five. He had a beautiful voice.
He attended Piqua High School before joining the United States Army.
After leaving the service he played country music with Ray Whitley, Dick Morgan, and Bill Callahan in California for a number of years. He returned to Ohio where he played on WLW radio. He and his first wife, Kay Adams, played on Midwestern Hayride, had their own show in Indianapolis and were part of Ernie Lee's Good Day Show in Florida. Herb played the fiddle and sang while Kay played guitar and sang. They wrote many of their own songs which they recorded on the King Records label.
Herb returned to Troy, OH and on March 20, 1972 he married his beloved and devoted wife Viola Baumgardner. They worked and retired together at Hobarts and were inseparable for the next 44 years.
