Henry G. Ray, Jr., age 65 of Old North Dayton, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021. He was born March 19, 1956 in Portland, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his fathers, Henry G. Ray, Sr., Linville Jenkins, Sr., and David E. Fleming; siblings, Linda Ray and Linville Jenkins, Jr.; brothers-in-law, James Hicks, Sr. and "Dozy" Newborne; nephews, James Hicks, Jr., and Shawn Ray.
Henry is survived by his mother, Ethel Fleming; siblings, Debbie Ray, Cheryl Newborne, Brenda (Hicks) Jenkins, Beth Fleming and Brian (Jennifer Hicks) Jenkins, Sr.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; best friend Ralph Buell "Jug Head"; along with many extended family and friends.
Henry who was known as "Crazy Ray" in his younger days. He was big hearted and would give his shirt off his back. Henry enjoyed dressing like Elvis and loved to dress in suit and ties.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where his funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 23, 2021. Burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Henry's family to help with funeral costs.
The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face mask will be worn in all public places.
