Helen O'Dell Pelfrey

HELEN O'DELL Munkus PELFREY was born in Oklahoma City, OK to parents, Lou Ethel Ragsdale Munkus, b 1901 AR, d 1984 OK, and Beverly Clinton Munkus b 1876 TX, d 1951 OK. Helen passed away peacefully at her residence in Fairborn, OH at age 79 on July 21, 2017 with her three daughters at her side.

Helen was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Carothers of Salisaw, OK, B. Dale Munkus of Powder Springs, GA, and her Mother and Father listed previously.

She is survived by her three children Pam Girvin of Miamisburg, OH, June Easterling of Fairborn, OH, Paula Masser of Tipp City, OH, two sisters, Fran Munkus Pelfrey of Gary, IN, and Lyn Munkus McDaniel of Bixby, OK. Helen has 7 Grandchildren, many Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends that love her and will miss her.

When Helen was young, she spent a lot of time in church with her family. She graduated from Norman High School in Norman, OK. She moved to the Fairborn, OH area in her late teenage years. She was a great cook and always fed anyone who walked into her home. Helen sang in a gospel group for a time. You could always hear her humming or singing while she was working around the house or driving. She was a good seamstress. She loved gardening and worked in her yard in her spare time keeping her flower beds in order. Helen loved driving a school bus, which was her profession for over 25 years. She was happiest when she could serve others and loved helping people. Her pride and joy was her Family!

The private interment ceremony will be held at Byron Cemetery.
