WENDLING, Helen Louise, age 75, of Dayton, met her heavenly Father on March 8,
2010. She peacefully left this world surrounded by her husband of 56 years, seven children and spouses, and multiple grandchildren. She was born on September 2, 1934 in St. Paris, Ohio and moved to the Dayton area in 1953. Helen will be remembered lovingly by her family and friends. Her family will especially miss her never ending love,guidance and involvement in their lives. Helen loved telling and listening to stories around a good cup of coffee and had a special affinity for angels, having spent many hours creating porcelain angels which surely grace many homes. Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Huberta Cook; father, Herbert Cook; brothers, Herbert, John and Charles and her infant son, Stephen Joseph. She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell Earl (Becky), Ralph Herbert II, Michael Gerard (Susan), David William (Barbara) and Joseph Stephen; daughters and sons-inlaw, Laura Ann (Scott) Miller and Elaine Marie (Ralph) Ribas; and 11 grandchildren,Karen, Emily, Amie, Jacob, Luke, Michael Jr., Sarah, Aaron, Abigail, Laytin and Helen; sister, Mary (Fred) Huber; and brother, Paul (Jean) Cook. Her first great-granddaughter is expected in May. The family will receive friends Friday, March 12, 2010 from 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Rita Church (5401 N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415), with Father Frank Keferl officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal."
