Helen Coley Logan (1923-2014), beloved wife of Edward T. Logan who preceded her in death in August of 2012 after 68 years of marriage. The beloved mother of 5 children, proud grandmother of 11 and great grandmother to 17 has gone to be with her Lord on June 18, 2014. She is the daughter of Robert Hyde and Lezia (Taillon) Coley of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Helen and Ed were married in 1944. They were longtime active residents of Beavercreek, Ohio where they raised their family and operated their business, Dimension Electronics, in Beavercreek. Helen is survived by her 5 children: Bobbie Norman (Richard), Betsy Keyes (Michael), Tom Logan (Regina), Ann Mundy, and Coley Logan (Martha). In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Mundy and great granddaughter, Molly Logan.
Helen received her RN nursing diploma from Hartford Nursing School, Hartford, Connecticut in 1943. She used her loving nursing skills to keep her family's bumps, bruises, scrapes, sicknesses and infections carefully healed. She served as president of St. Luke's Alter Rosary Society. Among other accomplishments, Helen spearheaded a fund raising effort to purchase the first car for the sisters who where serving at St. Luke's at that time. After moving to the Walden Community, Helen served as secretary of the Walden Women's Association for a number of years. Helen was an award winning Avon President's Club Representative. During her 50 year career with the company, she achieved the highest sales award many times. Helen was Ed's partner and financial officer in their business, Dimension Electronics, now operated by their son, Coley. She was by Ed's side through their 55 years of service to the Beavercreek Community.
A Catholic Mass will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church (1442 N. Fairfield Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45432). A visitation will be from 9:30 am until time of Mass at the church. www.newcomerdayton.com
