Helen L. Leahey

Helen Louise Leahey peacefully left this world on Monday, February
23, 2009, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by father - Walter, mother- Dorothy, brother-Donald, husband- Thomas Leahey and constant/faithful companion, Frank Corcoran. She will be greatly missed by her niece, Shelly Graeber and her son, R.J., along with beloved long-time friends, Mary Helen & Roger Steiner, Carol Hill and her children who Helen helped to become mature adults - Karen Denning, Kevin Stahl, Mike Hill & Dawn Ferguson and many other close friends. Helen was an active member and the "Cabbage Roll Queen" of the American Legion, Post #598 in Kettering. Helen resided at Heartland of Centerville for several years and then Bellbrook Rehab Center until her passing. Thank you to Kettering Medical Center and Hospice of Dayton for all the comfort care measures taken. Those who knew her will feel the void she leaves behind and will miss her laughter! The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel). Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 pm. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Rd., Dayton.
