Helen B. Fisher, age 91 of Beavercreek, passed away May 1, 2019. She was born September 21, 1927 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Earl and Mary Barnthouse. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Fisher; and sisters: Billie Stewart and Millie Poff.
Helen is survived by her children: Edward (Angela) Fisher and Patricia (Randy) Handler; grandchildren: Alex (Brittney) Fisher, David Handler, Michael (Ann-Marie) Handler and Ethan (Jordan) Fisher; brother, Robert Barnthouse; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Helen was a Legal Secretary who retired from WPAFB after many years of service. She enjoyed music and played the flute, piccolo and keyboard. She was a member of several local community bands, including New Horizon Band. Helen is listed in the Guiness Book of World Records for having participated in the world's largest flute ensemble. Helen enjoyed playing pinochle with her card club friends. She line-danced with the Vandalia Country Steppers and had been a member of the Vandalia Senior Center. Helen enjoyed traveling all over the United States and around the world. More than anything, she loved her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Helen's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
