Helen C. Sheppard

Helen C. Sheppard (Johns), age 89 of Vandalia, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Helen was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 22, 1926 to parents Charles B. Johns and Augusta R. Wilhem. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Walter W. Sheppard in 2006. Also preceding her in death was her brothers and sisters and grandson, Paul T. Carr, Jr. in 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Carr and her husband Paul T. Carr, Sr. of Vandalia, Ohio , son, James R. Sheppard and wife Mary of Arizona, sister, Rose Dickerson of Dayton, grandchildren, Tara (Carr) Funkhouser and husband Kevin of Mason, Ohio, Jim and Joe Elliott of Dayton and Jon and Joshua Sheppard of Arizona. Many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews that loved her very much. Many many friends from the Haines Street Church of Christ where she was a member. Special friends Kat, Irene and Lilly and to many more to name. She worked for Esther Price Candies from age of 15 years old as a hand dipper. She was very proud of that. When she married Walt they became "The Magical Moments of Sheppard and Company" and did school assemblies for 45 years in the tri-state area. They have been reunited again with their beloved grandson. She was a wonderful mother and a friend to everyone. She will be missed very much.
