Hee Sung Kang passed away on March 6, 2023 in Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio at the age of 70. He was born in Seoul, South Korea on June 3, 1952. He immigrated to the United States on June 18, 1983 at the age of thirty one.
He immigrated to Great Falls, Montana, (where his older sister was living) before his older brother Kyung Chul, who he had immigrated with, spread their own wings in this country and moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 1987.
Him and his brother went on to own multiple dry cleaners in the Pittsburgh area before moving their operations to Dayton, OH in 1999.
As each of their other siblings came to the US, he employed all of them until they got on their own feet and even though he was the 6th out of 7 children and the youngest son, he was most definitely one of the rocks of the Kang Family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Duck Jo and Jung Im Kang and his older sisters, Kyung Suk Kang and Kyung Ja Kim.
His is survived by his beloved and loyal wife of over 30 years, Cheng S. Kang. Their love story is one to be envied and they were so dedicated to each other. They worked side by side and loved each other deeply. Please send her your prayers.
He is survived by and was a dedicated father to his two children, daughter Joo Kang and son Richard Kang. Joo gave him two beautiful grand sons, Raiden Hyunsu Tatsuno and Aiden Hyunwoo Tatsuno whom he adored and loved. After his first grandson was born, he smiled a lot more and you could see his joy.
He is also survived by older brothers Kyung Won Kang (Yoo Gi), Kyung Chul Kang, older sister Hee Ok Kang, younger sister Suk Hee Kang and brothers in law Luis Cardiel and Guk Son Kim.
He will be missed by his 11 nieces, nephews, their significant others and their 17 children who live here in the US and in South Korea.
He was a member of the Dayton Korean United Methodist Church.
