Hazel F. Watkins

Hazel F. Watkins, age 84, of Fairborn, passed away December 30, 2024. Hazel was born in Fairborn, Ohio on May 10, 1940 to the late Glen and Goldie Oakley. 

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years, Adrian Watkins; son-in-law, Pat Austin; siblings, Ron Oakley, Phil Oakley and Glenda Oakley-Ford. 

She is survived by daughters, Katana D. Austin and Beth (Danny) Childress; grandchildren, Nathanael (Emily) Dunlavy, Andrew Copeland, Tyler Ross, Julia (Drew) Cherry, Christa Ross, Jayna Varner, Suzie Austin and Tamie Camp; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Lola) Oakley and Dale (Linda) Oakley; many nieces, nephews and extended family; as well as beloved friends, the McPeek family, Phyllis Dalton, Justine Givens and a host of others.

Hazel served as a Secretary at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 25 years and was very proud of her hard work and dedication. She made lifelong friends during her career. 

She was a longtime member of Tree of Life Ministries where she served passionately as a Sunday School teacher for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing and taking care of her grandchildren. 

Hazel was a genuine and trusted friend. Hazel had no filter and her family loved her for it. She was a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 

Words cannot describe how wonderful Hazel was. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hazel's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011). 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Tree of Life Ministries (420 W Funderburg Rd, Fairborn, OH 45324), with a memorial service being held at 12:00pm.
