Hazel Crockett

Hazel Marie Crockett, age 95, passed away at 5:15 pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Porter W. Crockett; son, James Crockett; granddaughter, Deborah L. Hodges; grandsons: Peter R. White, David Crockett and James K. Ashburn, Jr.; and great-grandson, Zachary Hodges.

Hazel was born in Bonaire, TN on October 22, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Will and Eliza Baltimore.

Her family includes: daughters and sons-in-law: Shirley and Ray Hobbs of Dayton, OH, Patricia and Prentice Neal of Cookeville, TN and Glenda and Kenneth Ashburn of Knoxville, TN; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 pm. Chaplain Steve Wetterhan of The Hospice of Dayton officiating.
