Williams, Haskell J., age 85, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born July 2, 1921 in Harriman, TN, the son of Fred & Mayme Cecil (Gamble) Williams. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. He also served in the CCC in the late 1930's. He was a member of the VFW Post 2800 and was also a Mason. Haskell worked at McCall's for 35 years. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Williams; daughters, Penny Lee (Joe) Santella of Decatur, IL, and Patricia May (Ray) Schommer of Union; son, Michael Williams of Dayton; sister, Reba Aldrich of Englewood; brother, Ralph (Mabel) Williams of Kettering; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, January 15, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 PM. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420. The family would like to thank Hospice, Miami Valley Cardiac Care, and the Widow's Home for all of their kindness and attention in the preceding year.
