Harvey Rains

RAINS, Harvey C., 92 of Dayton went home to be with the Lord, Monday, December 14, 2009 at The Sanctuary at Wilmington Place where he had been a resident for five months. He was born November 14, 1917 in Nashville,TN. Harvey is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Annie Mai Rains; step mother Lucille Rains; first wife Melba Rains; second wife Grace Rains; sisters Elizabeth Gleason, Dorothy Daniel, and Frances Hankins; and brother Alton Rains. Harvey is survived by his children Barbara Allen, Lynda Clemons, and Ronnie "Ron"(Pat) Rains; grandchildren Christopher (Naomi) Barlow, Ron Scott (Maggie) Rains, Melissa (Tom) Jacobs, Jeff (Karen) Rains, and Alicia (Nick) De Francesco; 23 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters Patricia (Jon) Crump and Sandra McDonald; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. A memorial service will be held 1:00PM Monday, December 21, 2009 at Woodland Mausoleum followed by a graveside service. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
