NAGAOKA, Haruo "Harry", age 81, of Dayton, passed away Monday, March 7, 2011. He was born March 31, 1929 in Seattle, Washington.

Harry was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a former vice president of the Dayton Chapter of Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), member of Faith Presbyterian Church, and the Huber Heights Senior Center. Harry was a long time resident of Chicago, IL, before moving to Dayton upon his retirement from careers as a research engineer and computer systems administrator.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Setsuko Nagaoka; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Brian Mayhew of Beavercreek and Jenny Nagaoka and Bart Longacre of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Eric Mayhew, Scott Mayhew, and Kelly Mayhew; two sisters, Kimiko Mukai and Joan Shimazu; and one brother, Minoru Nagaoka. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Arajiro and Mume Nagaoka; and two brothers, Eira Nagaoka and Akira Nagaoka.
