Harry H. Spears, age 86, of Centerville, OH and formerly of Fairborn, OH passed away after a courageous battle with Leukemia on Wednesday September 24, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Spears; and brother, Jim Spears.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn Norris Spears; children, Catherine Spears (Moon), Thomas (Susan) Spears, and Lisa (Paul) Raymundo; grandchildren, Christopher (Holly), Austin, Caitlyn, and Janey and Nugent; great grandchildren, Ella and Lilly; God son, Michael Wildenhaus; special sister-in-law, Carol Wildenhaus; sisters-in-law, Eileen Gosney, JoAnn Norris, and Irene Norris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harry retired from Monarch Marking/Pitney Bowes after 43 years of service and played softball where his Monarch team won the 1966 City Championship. He was also a part-time driver for Jack Huelsman Chevrolet for 10 years. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, #3724 Fairborn, OH. He was a former Parishioner of Mary Help of Christians. Harry enjoyed his Cincinnati Reds, fishing, old movies, cars, card games with his immediate family.
Visitation is Monday September 29, 2014 from 9:30am to 10:30am with Mass of Christian Burial starting at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
A special thanks to the staff at Hospice of Dayton who listened to his jokes daily and also the staff at Kettering Cancer Boonshoft Center.
