Harry Phillips, age 85 of Dayton, went to be with the Lord and said "he would see us on the other side" on September 1, 2015 at Heartland of Kettering. He was born March 19, 1930 in Caryville, Tennessee the son of Thomas and Ella Phillips. Harry worked for Hobart Corporation as a screw machine operator for 44 years and served in the United States Army for 21 months during the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Joe Phillips, Daisy Prater, Tempe Brown, Myrtle Madison, Ruby Madison, Luther Phillips, and Bud Phillips.
Harry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred; two children, Gary (Tonya) Phillips and Judy (David) Deeter; three grandchildren, Jessica (Dal) Turner, Jeanette (Carl) Marano, and Brittany Deeter; five great grandchildren, Kayla, Cole, and Cloe Turner; and Joseph and Austin Marano; and a special niece, Fannie Brown. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until time of service. Burial will be at the Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.
