Harry Everett "Smokey Joe" Chilton, born January 27, 1934 went to be with the Lord on Sunday September 26th, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Alice Chilton; sisters, Irene, Grace, Lucille, and Evelyn; and brother, Robert Chilton.
Harry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Charlotte Chilton; brothers-in-law, Charles, Moe, Jim, and David; sisters-in-law, Deloris, Carol, Pauline, Viola, Mary Carol, Debbie, and Shirley; numerous nieces and nephews; a very special nephew Jason Chilton; a host of family and friends; and his beloved dog Jazzy.
Harry worked at General Motors for 34 years and retired in 2001. Harry was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed mornings on his patio with a cup of coffee and feeding the squirrels and birds. Harry will be missed dearly and will forever remain in our hearts. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Dayton in Harry's memory.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 5-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio 45439). Services will be held Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 10:00 am at the funeral home, with Pastor John Swint officiating. Burial will follow at Hillgrove Cemetery.
