RUE, Harriet Novak, 90, of Dayton passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Harris Rue; parents James and Kitty Novak; and son-in-law Doug Brinkmeyer. Harriet is survived by her son James (Andrea) Rue; daughter Roberta Brinkmeyer; grandchildren Kristen (Chip), Jamie, Cristina, Janina, and Nicky; soon to be born great grandson; numerous other family and friends. She was born August 31, 1916 in Hankinson, ND, graduated from Wahpeton State School of Science and married her childhood sweetheart in 1938. She and Harris moved a great deal for his job with Curtis Wright Corporation before settling in Dayton in 1948. Harriet was a founding member of TWIG 10 (Terrific Women in Giving) in 1968. She was a tireless worker helping TWIG 10 benefit Children's Medical Center. Harriet worked for Board of Elections and was a lifetime supporter for the Republican Party. Gardening, Politics, and Cincinnati Reds were her favorite past times. She was a longtime member of Riverdale Congregational and currently attending Zion Memorial United Church of Christ. She was three time cancer survivor, devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Thursday April 26, 2007 at Zion Memorial United Church of Christ, 4000 S. Dixie Dr. Family will receive friends from 10:00 -11:00AM prior to services at the church. Interment will be held at David's Cemetery following services.
