Harold Simpson

Harold Simpson, age 82 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019. He was born January 28, 1937 in West Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Carl and Sarah Simpson.

Harold served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954-1958. He worked as a machinist and a pastor for most of his life. Harold was an accomplished musician and loved to play the harmonica and organ as well as other instruments. He was a jokester and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Simpson in 2016; grandson, Anthony Lewis in 2018; and brothers, Herbert, Ralph, Paul and Wayne.

Harold will be missed by his wife, Joanne Simpson; loving children, Patricia D. Simpson, Jeffrey A. Simpson and Monica E. (Lewis) McBride; step-children, Kristy Moberly, Donnie Moberly and Hope Woodson; grandchildren, Amy Kuhn, Valerie Payne, Maria Haskins, Jennifer Dettloff, Katie Simpson, Bradley Simpson, Matthew Simpson, Bobby Hanahan, Jon Hanahan, Wesley Hanahan, William Hanahan, Stephen McBride and Travis McBride; numerous great grandchildren; brother, George David Simpson; and other family members and friends.

Harold's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Hospice of Dayton for the care shown for him during this time.

Family will receive friends Friday, December 27, 2019 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Burial Willow View Cemetery.
