CARTER, Harold Loyd, age 80, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012.
He was born June 4, 1931 in Maryville, TN, to the late Daniel B. and I. Nella (Stout) Carter.
Harold retired from General Motors in 1983 after 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Iona "Ruby" Carter; one son, Dwight D. Carter; one brother, Alvin Carter; two sisters, Mildred Carter Crisp and Erma Carter Patterson.
Harold is survived by his children, Tina (Vic) Roberts, DaRhonda Sipe, and Tim (Kim) Carter; five grandchildren, Ronnie, Lori, Zeb, Amanda, and Gypsy; seven great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Victoria, Alyssa, Blake, Kira, Alena and Cherish; two brothers, Ralph (Elenora) Carter and Daniel (Carol) Carter, Jr.; two sisters, Wanda Carter (Tom) Phelps and Juanita Carter Adams; sister-in-law, Wanda (Clarence) Baker.
Pastor Todd Hoskins officiating.
Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Acclaim Hospice.
