GARDNER, Harold "Bud"
age 73, of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Hospice of Dayton. Bud was born April 6, 1931, the son of Charles and Mary Gardner. He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bud was a member of the VFW; DAV; and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was loved by everyone who knew him and was a loving husband and father. Bud lived by the words, "Jesus never fails." Bud is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Ardith Gardner; children, Mary Lee (Brian) Thomas of Miamisburg and Tim (Kay) Gardner of GA; daughter-in-law, LuAnn Adkins of Columbus; sister Barbara Robards of Dayton; grandchildren, Amy Jo (Matt) Vance, Buddy Gardner, Jessica and Jennifer Adkins, and Briana and Nicholas Thomas; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Adkins and Malachi Vance; and several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kessler Adkins; sisters, Thelma Gardner, Nellie Mays, Irene Pelfrey, Mary Francis Newsome; and brothers, Charles "June" Jr., Wilburn "Babe", Robert "Pete", Cecil "Dub" Gardner. Family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with interment following in Bearcreek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Buds memory to Hospice of Dayton. "We will always love and miss you."
