Albers, Harold E. "Peck", age 85, of Kettering, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011.
Harold was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving during WWII and a member of VFW Post #9927 in Kettering. He was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, and he was also an avid University of Dayton Basketball fan.
Harold is survived by his daughters and son-in-law: Rebecca (Rick) Hewitt, Linda Fortener; son: Robert Albers; grandchildren: Jacob (Kelly) Fortener, Jodi Fortener, Daniel (Lauren) Fortener, Eric (Candi) Hewitt, Adam (Abbey) Hewitt, Chad Hewitt, Ryan Albers, Paige Albers; great grandchildren: Caleb Fortener, Noah Fortener, Maggie Hewitt; brother and sister-in-law: Jerome (Grace) Albers; special friend: Howard Burger; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bernard H. & Stella M. (Schieltz) Albers; wife: Norma Albers and sister: Evelyn Henehan. Harold was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, with Father Tom Meyer Celebrant. Interment will follow Mass at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at St. Albert the Great. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in memory of Harold.
