Gwen E. Brooks

Gwen E. Brooks, age 74 of West Carrollton, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023. She was born May 3, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Mark and Florence Butts. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Butts and sister, Gloria Klein.

Gwen is survived by her beloved husband, Larry Brooks; two sons, Kelly Brooks (Christine Brooks) and Kevin Brooks (Angi Angel); six grandchildren, Allen and Andy Byrd, Derek, Nathan, Evelyn, and Rylee Brooks; sister, Gail Kesling. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.

Gwen was employed for almost 30 years as a State Social Worker where she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed playing BINGO with her sisters, family game night, trips to the beach or to Las Vegas, and had a passion for cooking for her family. The most important thing to Gwen was her family and her pets, she dedicated her life to loving and supporting them. Gwen is well loved and will be deeply missed.


Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). Celebration of Life will be officiated at 3:00 pm by Joel Getts following the visitation.
