Gregory Wayne Miller

Gregory Wayne "Greg" Miller, age 63 of Sidney, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on October 4, 1958 in Middletown, Ohio to the late Lloyd and Betty Miller.
Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Anita; three children, Matt (Emily), Marah (Casey), and Micah; three grandchildren, Tori, Brandon, and Lorelai; four siblings, Terry (Kathy) Miller, Debbie (Jerome) Wurst, Doug (Pauline) Miller, and Kim (Steve) Turner. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.
He was a 1977 graduate of Carlisle High School. Greg later attended Raymond Walters Trade School for welding and Edison Community College for business. He retired in 2021 from Shelby County at Fair Haven.
Greg was known for his quick-wit and great sense of humor. He was an avid Ohio State fan and season ticket holder for the Sidney Yellow Jackets. He enjoyed sports, woodworking, and riding his motorcycle. A couple highlights were winning the Pine Box Derby in 1969 and going to the state championship with the Carlisle Indians in 1977. He was a jack-of-all trades that taught his children to change the oil, weld, repair the car, fish, swim, play pool, golf, bowl, catch a ball, and so much more.
The most important thing to Greg was his family and pets. He was a professional grandpa and recently enjoyed a perfect day at the park with his grandchildren. Greg was devoted to attending all of the family gatherings and was an advocate for pet rescue.
Greg's final gift to the world was through organ donation. The family would like to thank Life Connections for their kindness and compassion.
Celebration of Life will be held on June 10, 2022 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Moose Lodge (1200 N. Broadway Ave. Sidney, Ohio 45365). Time of Remembrance will be officiated by Rev. Brad Ellis at 7:00 pm. The family has requested casual attire. Greg would always say "If I can't wear Jeans, I'm not going".
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family strongly suggests memorial contributions be made to Fair Haven Activity Services Fund (at 2901 Fair Rd. Sidney, Ohio 45365, 937-492-6900) or to Shelby County Animal Shelter (at 610 Gearhart Rd. Sidney, Ohio 45365, 937-498-7201).
