Gregory L. Dempsey , 52, of Miami Township, Ohio passed away on September 30, 2016. He was born on May 28, 1964, in Bainbridge, Maryland to John and Sharon Dempsey.
Greg formerly drove for Fed Ex Freight. He enjoyed spending time with his family- especially his grandchildren. He was a soccer Papaw and never missed an event. He was a quiet hero and shoulder to his family as well as always dependable. He liked to work in the yard, Nascar racing, model trains and fishing. Greg will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Dempsey and son-in-law, Chris Lefever. Greg will be missed by his loving wife of 26 years, Brenda Dempsey; father, John Dempsey; step children, Rachel (Mat Carpenter) Maxie, Robyn Lefever and Ken (Michelle) Maxie; grandchildren, Alyssa, Kristin, Raelynn, Brooke, Jake, Rileigh, Jason, Kierra and Ean; brother, Chad Dempsey and a nephew and niece, Seth and Selena Dempsey.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek). Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Silver Creek Cemetery, Jamestown.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice or a charity of choice.
