Grace E. Root

Grace Evelyn Root 93, passed away at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, Ohio. She was born July 20, 1921 in Glouster, Ohio, the daughter of the late James and Emma Hill.

Grace was a graduate of South Zanesville High School, a resident of Meigs Township Muskingum County, where she married her first husband, the late Ray H. Flowers, who passed away in 1962.

Later, Grace moved to Dayton, Ohio, where she married the late Clarence A. Root, who passed away in 1998. She worked at numerous jobs throughout life, including Wright-Patterson AFB, Crescent Printing. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Grace was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Ellen North, Irene Strawsbaugh, Betty Hammond, and brothers, Clifford, Laurence, Clyde, and Gene Hill. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Jim and Ron, three step-children, Rick, Jane, Vicki, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral home at 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd. in Beavercreek OH. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Chapel at 8200 W. National Rd. in New Carlisle, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties.
