Throckmorton (Sr.), Gordon Lee "Rocky", age 76, of Clayton, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born March 23, 1931 in May'sVille, KY, the son of Ellsworth & Hazel (Chandler) Throckmorton. He graduated from May'sLick Kentucky and served in the US Army 16th Infantry (Germany). He retired from NCR after 23 years where he was employed as an Automatic Screw Machine Operator. He was married for 41 years. Gordon was a gunsmith and loved restoring classic mustang cars. He was an avid reader and history buff and was interested in Indian artifacts. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed camping. Gordon was also a woodcrafter, wine maker, and liked Bluegrass music. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Throckmorton; and former wife, Nannie Throckmorton. Survivors include his four children, Beverly (Doug) Lewis of Clayton, Gordon Lee Throckmorton, Jr. of Dayton, Pamela Throckmorton of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren, Janeil, Jason, Jerry Jr., & Sharon; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Evelynn Dugan of KY; brother, Kenneth Throckmorton of KY; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 from 6-8 PM and also on Thursday from 1:30-2:30 PM. Graveside services will be held at 3 PM on Thursday at Dayton National Cemetery.
