October 20, 1944 — March 13, 2022

Gordon Frederick Smith "Gordy", age 77 of West Carrollton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 13, 2022 with loved ones by his side. He was born on October 20, 1944 in Elkhart, Indiana, to the late William and Helen Smith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Marc Frederick Smith; sister, Wava Meyers; and brother-in-law, Dewey Van Scoy.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; son, Michael Gordon (Nichole) Smith; two step grandchildren, Blake Fridley and Megan (Brian) Stoner and four step great-grandchildren; in-laws, Kathy (Danny) Schmenk, Patty Brinkman (Steve Atkinson), Debbie (Tom) Molitor, and Michael (Kris) Van Scoy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, Kathy (Dave) Chilson Penny (Tim) Edmond, Danny (Lynn) Schmenk, Jenny (Ken )Boggs, Kristi (Nathan) Young, Stephanie Brinkman, Tommy Molitor, Scott (Kayla) Molitor, Megan Ferrence, Kyle (Brooklyn) Rone, Joey Rone, Alexis Van Scoy, Luke Van Scoy, Laci Van Scoy, Dewey (Elizabeth) Van Scoy, April Van Scoy, Daniel Van Scoy, Aaron Van Scoy and Destiny Van Scoy. In addition to many other family and friends.

Gordon was a First Lieutenant in the Army from Jan. 1969 - Oct.1972 and in the reserves from Oct. 1972 - Jan. 1975.
Gordon was truly one of a kind, his faith and family were his whole world. He provided a spiritual home and was a Godly example to his wife and children. Being involved in their lives was his top priority.

"Gordy" touched many lives with his kindness, humor and most of all his love. His family and co-workers can attest to that. His family were members of First Baptist Church of West Carrollton.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" Jeremiah 29:11

Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm on April 3, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel located at 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439. Family will receive guests two hour prior to the service.
