Gordon C. Pemberton

PEMBERTON, Gordon C., age 81, of Kettering, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008. He was born on January 12, 1927 in Helenwood, TN to the late Judson and Mewanee Pemberton. Gordon served as a military policeman with the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, TN and the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from NCR and General Motors Delco Moraine. Gordon was preceded in death by his brothers Leonard and Ralph. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Joyce Pemberton; son Michael; daughter Sheila (Tom) Fleming; and daughter Sharon; and sisters Eloise Fisher and Evelyn Staedlin of FL; and several nieces and nephews. Gordon will be remembered in his neighborhood for his friendly outgoing personality. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 11:00-1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd.). The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. Donations may be made in Gordon's memory to the American Cancer Society.
