Gordon Asbury, age 90, of Dayton, went to be with the Lord and his late wife on Sweetest Day, Saturday, October 18, 2014.
Gordon was born on November 8, 1923 in Caryville, TN to the late Homer & Ruth Asbury.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Norma Asbury.
Gordon is survived by his proud son, Michael (Christina) Asbury; step-sons, Stephen (Connie) Burks and Robert (Juanita) Burks; grandchildren, Matt (Kathy) Burks, Nick Burks, Brittany Burks and Eric Barker; sister-in-law, Jeannie (Jerry) Ronk; and many other relatives and friends.
Gordon proudly served his country, his family and most of all his Lord.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 10-11 am at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering, Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 11am. Burial will take place at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
