Goldie "Sally" Holcomb

Holcomb, Goldie "Sally", age 94, passed away on December 12, 2012 at Trinity Community. She was born May 5, 1918 to Harrison & Jennie Holcomb.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her 5 brothers: Earnest, Edward, Porter, Roy and David; sister: Wavelene Basham; and nephew: Robert Holcomb. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law: Irene Holcomb Busch & her husband Gerald Busch; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend: Vivian Baskett.

Sally worked many years at Brown & Brockmeyer and Duriron Company. She was a member of the Eastern Star Jacob Eby Chapter #571. Sally was a huge Cincinnati Reds fan and was very happy to go to the Reds Celebration when they won the Central Division Pennant. Sally was a softball player and an excellent bowler. She also loved to play cards and enjoyed cooking. She was a member of Eastern Star #571, Jacob Eby Chapter. The family would like to thank Trinity Community for the love and care she received while in their care.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Interment will follow the service at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Colon Cancer Research Fund.
