Goldie L. Plant, age 87, of Middletown, OH passed away on March 25, 2024, at Spring Hills Middletown. Goldie was born in Indianapolis on November 20, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Alva and Goldie (Axsom) Ayers.
Goldie graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. She went on to further her education by receiving her Undergraduate Degree in Social Work from the University of Indianapolis and her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Butler University.
After her graduation, Goldie began her career as a marriage and family therapist. For over 31 years she demonstrated a passion for helping others. Goldie was selfless with her time and was dedicated to her profession. She became a longtime counselor for the Celebrate Recovery program that was sponsored by her church, Stratford Heights Church of God in Middletown, OH, where she was a faithful member. Goldie retired from her storied career in 2016.
Goldie was an avid reader and loved to travel. She toured all through Europe, South and Central America, Mexico and nearly every state of our union. Her greatest love and joy, however, was spending time with her family and friends. Goldie will always be remembered for being kind, caring, patient, loving and having a huge heart and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Goldie is survived by her children, daughter, Susan Pearce of Cincinnati, OH; son, Brian Clutter of Chicago, IL; granddaughters, Kali Rheanne Pearce of Baltimore, MD and Fiona Cook of Chicago, IL; and brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sharon Sigler of Springboro, OH.
Along with her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Clutter; second husband, Eli Plant and brothers, Jack and Don Ayers.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 E. Hanna Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227. Funeral services celebrating Goldie's life will immediately follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6851 S. Indianapolis Rd., Whitestown, IN
