Goldie Mae Payne was born August 10th, 1939, to Odie and Alfred Decker in Woodbine, KY. At age 79, as a resident of Huber Heights, OH, she went home to be with the Lord late July 1, 2019.
She is survived by her husband, John Payne; son, Bobby Hollifield; and grandson, Robb Hollifield.
Goldie lived a long fruitful life. She started walking with the Lord at a young age, and even now leaves a legacy far beyond that of her own reach. Known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers, Goldie never met someone she wouldn't consider a friend. Yet even as a child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking, will never be forgotten. Goldie leaves a legacy to those remaining, to walk in faith, trust a beautiful Savior named Jesus with everything you have, and never miss an opportunity to share the gifts He has given you.
Family will receive friends Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio.
