Gloria T. Nestor

Gloria T. Nestor (nee Burns), aged 89, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024. Loving husband of Paul Edward Nestor for 70 years, cherished mother of Michael (Julia) Nestor and Mira (Jim) Smith and adored grandmother of James (Hannah) Smith, Alec Smith, Jeremy Nestor, Haliey Nestor and Hunter Nestor. She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Bruce and Opal Burns; daughter Sharon Nestor; grandson Justin Nestor and siblings Hazel Hatcher, Fred Tichnell and Duncan Tichnell. 

Gloria was born on June 10, 1935 in Rowlesburg, WV. She graduated from Rowlesburg High School in 1953. She met the love of her life Paul and they married on April 16, 1955.

She enjoyed being active in her church, Washington Heights Baptist Church, for many years. She helped in the AWANA program for kids as well as Vacation Bible School. 

Gloria also enjoyed traveling with her husband to Israel and on mission trips to several countries, serving wherever they were needed.

Her favorite time was spent with her children and grand children where many memories were made. She will be remembered as always being faithful to our Lord and always putting everyone else above herself. 

Public visitation will be held at Washington Heights Baptist Church (5650 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH 45429) on Friday December 13, 2024 at 11:00 am with funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at David's Cemetery.
