Glenn E. Hoffman, age 78, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.
Glenn was born on August 1, 1941 in Xenia, IL to the late Raymond & Pansy (Patterson) Hoffman.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lucille Wilson.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Myra (O'Brien); sons, Roy Allen, of Falls Church, VA and Nathan Eric, of Chicago, IL, along with his wife, Charity; grandchildren, Jaron and Kayla; brother, Raymond Dale and his wife, Diana, of Elwood, IL; his Centerville and Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church families; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Glenn and Myra met in 1961 in Charleston, South Carolina. Glenn was in the U.S. Air Force at the time. He served his country from 1959 to 1962 and was honorably discharged. Glenn's multifaceted career included the Air Force, AT&T, Jackson Hewitt, Prudential, the Kettering Health Network, the State of Ohio, Spring Valley Academy, and Miamisburg Public Schools. Among other things, Glenn was a drag racer, mechanic, pilot, electrician, marketer, salesman, business planner, bus driver, mentor, teacher, and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 1-4 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. Glenn will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Gardens, North Charleston, SC on Veteran's Day, Monday, November 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
