Glenda F. Penix, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on May 11, 1939, Glenda embodied strength and warmth, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Glenda's love for her family was unwavering. She was strong-willed, yet her heart was filled with compassion and tenderness. Her children, Ron (Angie) Penix, Sandy Masada, and Carolyn (Barry) Dalrymple, always found in her a guiding light and steadfast support. Each of her grandchildren—Alicia Dalrymple, Jason (Erica) Penix, Justin (Nikkole) Penix, and Kristen Masada—was a source of pride and joy for her, as she embraced them with boundless affection. Glenda was also blessed to welcome great-grandchildren Ellie Penix, and Remi and Rhett Penix, into her life, adding more laughter and love to her family circle.
Glenda took immense pride in her home, always ensuring it was neat and clean, a reflection of her personality that spanned beyond household chores. Her passion for reading nurtured her mind and spirit, providing her with both knowledge and an escape into new worlds. She often found solace in the pages of a book, and her love for stories sparked countless conversations with family and friends.
A member of the Polk Grove United Church of Christ, Glenda’s faith played an integral role in her life, strengthening her connections with her community and providing her with a sense of purpose. She touched the hearts of many and was known for her unwavering commitment to helping others.
Glenda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Morris Penix, who provided her with joy and companionship throughout their 54 years together; as well as her parents, Arthur and Ora Gilliam.
Her special niece, Linda Maynard, along with many other family members and friends, are left with memories that will forever resonate in their hearts.
