Glen Smith

Smith, Glen H., age 85, of Park Layne, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at his home. He was born December 23, 1922 in Washington Twp., IN, the son of Reuben N. & Alice (Norris) Smith. Glen served in the US Army during WWII. He retired from Mulic Insurance Company in 1987. He was a faithful member of the Way of the Cross Church for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marcella Smith; and his sister, Dorothy Call. Survivors include his wife, Norma Smith; children, Cassandra Conger of Dayton, Steven Smith of Grand Cayman Islands, Donna Bennett of London, OH; step-children, David Sewell, Brenda Ledbetter, Pamela Conner, Linda Haman, & Roberta Stone; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Pamela Conner and Jessie Jackson, for their loving care during his illness, as well as many other family members and Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Way of the Cross Church, 612 Beatrice Dr., Riverside, OH, with Rev. William Loudermilk. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle. The family will receive friends at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH on Tuesday from 5-8 PM. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
