Glen P. Allen, age 91 of Xenia, Ohio passed away peacefully on August 21, 2021. He was born July 4, 1930 in Norway, Michigan son of the late Mabel Hearty and James Allen.
Glen was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Glen was a 1948 Pembine High School Graduate in Pembine, Wisconsin. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Korean War. Glen worked for over 50 years at the Xenia, OH post office. Glen made lifetime donations of over 50 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross. He was an avid Reds' fan. Glen will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ellen Ruth (Gulley) Allen; son, Robert "Bobby" Allen; daughter -in-law, Joyce Kathryn Allen; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jesse Davenport; and sisters, Marion Sharon and Carol "Mitzi" Willrett.
Glen is survived by his children, Glen Allen of Granada Hills, CA, Brooks (Izumi) Allen of Yellow Springs, OH, Stephanne (Michael) Pummell of Xenia, OH, Jeph (Rebecca) Allen of Apex, NC, and Sheila Brown of Columbus, OH who was like a daughter; grandchildren, Anita (Ben) Stratton, Jane (LaShaun) Newton, Shaun (Brooke) Davenport, Olani (Tim) Mertz, and Josie (Tyler) Porter; great grandchildren, Thomas, Oscar, and Mia Stratton, Micah (Erica), Christian (Mika), Kayla, Jamie, and Nicky Newton, Cooper, Macy, Savannah, and Scarlett Davenport; life long friend, Leola Mattison; and his pup, Bailey; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 6-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 10am at Valley View Memorial Gardens (170 North Valley Road, Xenia, Ohio 45385).
