Glen M. Johnson, age 87 of Dayton, passed away February 4, 2020 at Heartland of Centerville.
He was a 1950 graduate of West Carrollton High School. Glen was associated with Duellman Electric for 23 years and Richards Electric for 3 years. He co-founded and became president of Gem City Electric Supply Co in 1976. Glen then co-founded and became president of All State Electric Supply Co of Pompano, FL in 1983. He moved to Sarasota, FL in 1987 and took a job with Wellcraft Marine Co (makers of world class boats). Glen retired and moved back to Dayton in 1997. He worked another 7 years with Lowe's Home Improvements as their electric pro.
Glen's hobbies included bowling, boats, water skiing, woodworking and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years, Nancy Johnson; parents, Orville and Ella Johnson; step-mother, Chesney Johnson; his daughter, Sheilah Silvio; grandsons, Mario and Marco; son-in-law, Anthony Silvio; son-in-law, Rick Grgetic and sister-in-law, Joanne Johnson.
Glen is survived by his daughters, Cindy Johnson and Sandra (Tony) Johnson; step-son, Neal (Joan) Childers; grandchildren, Andrew (Meagan), Michael (Sarah), Brandon Childers, Courtney (Brett) Maniaci and Danielle (Mike) Bjorkgren; great grandchildren, Emaline, August, Millicent, Juniper, Luke, Leo, Lincoln, Connor, Logan and Reese; brother, Richard Johnson; niece and nephew, Gary Johnson and Diana Dodge; numerous extended family and dear friends.
Family will receive friends from 1-2 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Newcomer Centerville Chapel, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459 where a funeral service will begin at 2 PM with his son-in-law, Pastor Tony Johnson officiating.
