Gladys Norma (Daugherty) Armstrong, age 92, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 with family in the home and went to Heaven peacefully. She loved her family, friends and nature. Gladys worked at Western Union as a telegraph operator during World War II, while her husband was in Combat as a gunner on a B24 bomber.
Preceded in death by her parents Emma and Edgar Daugherty; husband of 56 years, Warren L. Armstrong; grandson Douglas L. Armstrong. Survived by daughter, Beverley A. (Eric W.) Swigart of Clayton; son, Steven L. (Vicky L.) Armstrong of Springboro; 2 grandchildren, Valerie (Eddie) Sumpter, Jillian Armstrong; 2 great grandchildren, Natalie Armstrong and Killian Sumpter. Gladys accepted the Lord Jesus as her Lord and Savior in the 1970's.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm- 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, 45424 where funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm Wednesday. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton, Ohio.
