Gladys Marie Holder, age 83 of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018. She was born in Humboldt, Tennessee to Warner Seward and Lovie D. (Elam) Williams.
Preceded in death by Son, Gary Lee Holder; Husband, Rev. John F. Holder; Brothers, George Seward (Geraldine) and Wilford Seward (Shirley).
Gladys leaves those to cherish her memory, Children, Joyce M. Charles (Cornelius) of Vandalia, OH, Kenneth F. Holder (Cherion) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Melissa George (David), Venessa Holder all of Huber Heights, OH. Also a Sister, Christine Griggs (Clarence) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren, along with many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Gladys who was mother of Holy New Jerusalem (MBC), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, stood in position faithfully from 1990 to 2001. After moving to Ohio, joined the spiritual family of Maranatha Bible Church in 2001.
Gladys moved into Stonespring care facility in 2011, where she made numerous friends of residents and staff. We would like to thank the staff of Hospice and Stonespring care facility for all the years of wonderful care and respect that was given to our mother and family.
Gladys was baptized as a member of Montgomery Ave. Church of Christ, Springfield, Ohio and remained there until her homecoming.
Mother Holder was a humble woman willing to sacrifice for God and her family. She touched so many lives on her journey and will be genuinely missed.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
