Gillis B. "Gil" Carter, age 90, of Miamisburg, formerly of Traverse City, MI, passed away January 28, 2024. Gil was born in Bell County, Kentucky on November 6, 1933 to the late Harvey and Victoria Carter.
Gil is preceded in death by his parents; 12 siblings; grandson, Jason McCracken; and son-in-law, Jerry McCracken.
He is survived by daughter, Vicki (Roger) White; daughter, Dora (Deceased, Bill) Patrick; son, Jeff (Trish) Carter; son, Thomas (Tammy) Carter; daughter, Lisa (Mike) Ford; first wife, Betty Carter; special friend, Sue; bonus daughter, Shannon; special friend, Ron; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family members and friends.
Gil worked as a truck driver for 58 years, retiring for Ennis. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 3:00pm.
