BOWER, Gillian, died at home Sat., Sept. 9, 2006. No need to put age. A private gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate Gillian's life. Apart from filling in the blanks above, I am writing my obituary in advance. Duh, you think?!! I've always been a control freak so I still want the last word. I am survived by the love of my life, Steve; my responsible son, Rick and family who have helped take care of son Karl; my precious daughter, Lynne who has given me three wonderful grandchildren, Matt, Brittany and Dustin; sisters Alix, Pam and families; brother David and family; numerous nieces and nephews; step-daughter Stephanie and family and many wonderful friends, especially Cheryl. Among those waiting for me, my parents, sister Joy and my Nan. A special thanks to the wonderful staff on the bone marrow transplant unit and clinic at Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati. Keep up the good work! I was an oncology nurse at St. Elizabeth and Grandview Hospitals and I was one of the first Hospice of Dayton nurses. I became a massage therapist and then the first Vodder and Nationally certified Lymphedema therapist in the Dayton Area. I started the Lymphedema Support Group. I request no flowers. A donation to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice would be nice. My favorite choices would be to either buy a little something for yourself, which you wouldn't usually buy, but from which you would derive pleasure, or pay for something at the grocery store and give to someone who could use it. Maybe some fruit for a family with children or a box of chocolates for a harried mother. That would be fun and I promise I will be smiling down on you!!
