Gertrude Pennington, age 82 of Kettering, passed away August 19, 2017. She was born November 3, 1934 in Breathitt, KY to the late Clifton and Bertha (Large) Barnett. In addition to her parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by her son, Mike Neumann; daughter, Beth Neumann; brothers, James, Dewey, Ralph and Ernie Barnett; sisters, Betty, Martha and Sharon Barnett.
She is survived by her 3 children, Henry Hensley, Don Neumann and Vicki (Jeff) Holliday; special niece and caregiver, Janie (Rick) Lindal; grandchildren, DJ, Cheyenne, Robert, John Henry, Jeff, Tiffany, Angela, Megan; sister, Ethel (Dave) Fleming; brothers-in-law, John Albertson and Earl Hensley and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Gertrude was an avid BINGO player. She worked as a beautician for many years in the Dayton area.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. where a funeral service will begin at 10:30AM. Interment will follow the service at Willow View Cemetery.
