Geraldine "Gerry" M. Ryder, age 96, died Saturday, August 2, 2014.
Gerry was born in Dayton on June 2, 1918, and is a 1936 graduate of Stivers H.S. She retired from Rike's and was active in Eastern Star.
Preceded in death by husband, Deo, her husband of 72 years, son, Jack Ryder, grandson, Shane Bunting. Gerry is survived by daughters, Jill Moore (Paul), Niceville, FL and Debbie Bunting, Matthews, NC. Gerry also leaves behind her grandchildren, Todd Moore, Cumming, GA, Shana Harrison, Geneva, AL, Scott Bunting and Brooke Bunting, Charlotte, NC, Teri Ryder, Cary, NC, and Tracy Ryder, Middleburg, FL. Also close to her heart were her great grandchildren, Amanda and Michael Daher (Shana), Zachary and Jack Moore (Todd), Alexa and Zoe Bunting (Brooke), Hunter Bunting (Scott), and Justin Ryder (Tracy). Nephew, Ron and wife Shirley Fine were her angels helping her whenever they could.
Gerry's family was her life along with her many friends, card clubs, golf girls, and love of travel. Gerry was a long-time member of Oak St. E.U.B./UMC which merged with Southpark UMC.
Graveside services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at David's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southpark UMC, St. Leonard's Senior Living Community or charity of your choice.
