We regret to announce the passing of Gerald Thomas (Tom) Walker, 70, of Lebanon. Tom passed away on October 18th after a difficult battle with ALS.
Tom was born on May 24, 1952 to Gerald and Dorothy Walker. After graduating from West Carrollton High School in 1971, Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served as an aircraft mechanic from 1971 to 1974. After serving his country, Tom continued to work in the field of aviation at Flightways, Airborne Express, and DHL
.
Tom and Becky (Trissel) were married for thirty-three years, only being apart the last three months. Together, they enjoyed gardening, hiking, and camping. Accompanied by their four-legged kids, they embarked on many adventures across the country. He was loved by his family and friends for his amusing jokes and sense of humor.
Tom was predeceased by his wife, parents, and sister, Linda.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Amy Pierce (Doug) and Katie McKinney (Brett); his grandchildren, Danielle, Nicholas, Declan, and Gareth; his sisters, Beverly Estep (Monty) and Barbara Dirks (Gary); his niece, Debbie Montgomery (Gregg); his nephews, Doug Estep (Gwen) and Tim Dirks (April); along with great nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Services will be held at Arlington Cemetery in Brookville, Ohio on Thursday, November 3 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Dayton or The ALS Association.
