Gerald Plzak

Jerry died peacefully November 27, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton in the arms of his loving wife Romelle and faithful sons Tom and Tim. Romelle, sons Tom (Tina) and Tim (Hilda), daughter Kay (Terry), grandchildren (Ben, Rachel, Josh, Katie, Max, Carter, Brooke), family and friends are left to grieve the loss of this truly wonderful man.

He was born in Antigo, Wisconsin September 1, 1936 of good parents Carl and Marcella (Echart) Plzak. He graduated from Antigo High School in 1954 and Marquette University in Milwaukee in 1958. He was an active member of the ROTC and served in the US Army Reserves.

He married the love of his life Romelle on April 23, 1960. Absolutely his most favorite past-time was spending time with her. Everything he did, revolved around the two of them and their life together.

He loved his work - 33 years of dedicated service as a mechanical engineer at WPAFB. Through the years he worked on Saturn missiles and aircraft of all kinds. Jerry retired in September of 1991.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother (Marcella) and father (Carl). He is survived by his children and grandchildren as well as two brothers David (Gina) Plzak of Richland Hills, Texas and Daniel (Arlene) Plzak of Antigo, Wisconsin. In addition, Jerry is survived by sister-in-law Barb (Wally) Taylor of Wisconsin and brother-in-law Tom (Carol) Kielcheski of Wisconsin. There are numerous cousins, nieces & nephews and friends that survive Jerry and who will miss him dearly. Jerry was a people person. Everyone was family to him.

He loved to travel the country, especially with Romelle. From camping and motor home trips, to his Texas and Wisconsin travels ... he loved every trip. In his working years, he traveled the globe and brought back many gifts and memories to mom and the family. There were many years where he rode his motorcycle to and from work and took long rides with Romelle. He loved to bike ride both in Ohio on the bike path and in Texas and Mexico with his bicycle club. He loved his computer. He'd spend hours playing games, tracking things, and instant messaging. He loved wood-working. He made so many special things for so many people. Jerry loved to Square Dance. For years, he and Romelle traveled the country dancing and laughing. He loved airplanes. From the air shows to the air force museum. He never got tired of visiting and taking family and friends there. He loved to feed the birds and watch the squirrels. And Jerry loved his pets - Cricket, Sissy, Spooky, Little Kitty and Jake. Each got Jerry's special treatment - all of the time! Jerry was God's lifelong servant and celebrated all of God's miracles in his life.
